Shade Sail Repairs Restitch

Shade Sail Repairs: Clean & Full Restitch
Bring your old sail back and save money
After a few years in the Australian sun, every shade sail shows wear and tear. Mould, road grime and dust build up in the cloth, while UV rays slowly weaken the thread that holds it together. After 5 or 6 years, most sails need shade sail repairs and a full restitch to stay tight and storm-ready.

Sailmaker Shade Sail Repairs
Don't throw out an old shade sail because of damage or age
HDPE shade cloth is very tough and can last up to 50 years. In our experience, a wash and full restitch, combined with the strength of the original fabric, brings most sails back to near-new condition. Looking for sun shade sail repairs near me in Brisbane? We'll return your sail in like-new condition for around half the price of a new one.

Why Repair It?
Shade sail fabric is High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), and it outlasts the thread, which loses strength over time from UV damage. Repairing your sail saves money and keeps good fabric out of landfill. A sail damaged in a storm has often just split along its seams, so a full restitch restores its tension and shape. A shade sail repair kit may patch a small hole, but it can't replace worn thread across the whole sail. Need roof shade sail repairs near me? We repair sails from roofs, posts and walls, and there's very little damage our service can't fix.
Step 1 – Washing Your Sail
Before any repair, we thoroughly wash your sail in our custom washout bay. It is hung up and carefully pressure washed on both sides without chemicals. The waste water flows to our grease trap and sediment filter, and a licensed waste contractor then disposes of it safely and professionally.

Step 2 – Shade Sail Repairs & Restitch
Our skilled machinists restitch and repair the whole sail using the newest thread. It's made to resist UV damage for 8 to 9 years. Want an even longer life? We can upgrade your sail to long-life PTFE marine thread, which comes with a 15-year manufacturer's warranty.

Take down your sail by undoing the turnbuckles and shackles. Leave them fixed to the house or posts. Mark one corner of the sail, then put a matching mark on its post or fixing point. This makes putting it back up simple. Searching for shade sail repairs near me? Bring it to our Wacol factory.
